Our vision is to pioneer human-centered computational models, algorithms, and immersive tools that transform how people and intelligent machines work together. Rather than designing systems that replace people, we create technologies that amplify human capabilities—cognitive, physical, and social—so that individuals can thrive alongside AI and robotics. In our research, “human” spans the full spectrum of stakeholders across the product and service lifecycle: from designers envisioning new solutions, to industrial workers collaborating with robots on assembly and maintenance, to operators making high-stakes decisions under uncertainty. Across these contexts, we develop methods for human–AI–robot teaming, cognitive and skill augmentation, and extended embodiment through extended reality (XR). Our mission is to reimagine the future of work and human experience by integrating advances in AI, robotics, and XR into systems that are adaptive, transparent, and resilient. We aim to ensure that intelligent technologies adapt to human needs, preserve human agency, and expand what people can achieve, enabling tasks and insights that would be impossible through automation or human effort alone.
